My car asked for the radio pin code after I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes.

 

Evillz is correct, you will definitely need the radio code.

 

There is a "gizmo" you can buy that connects to a car battery and plugs into either the cigarette lighter socket, or another type plugs into the ODBII socket, to keep the memory settings "alive" while the battery is changed.
If you disconnect the battery, as well as the radio code, you will have to re-learn the open and close procedure for the windows too.

Do you mean that you loose the auto opening/closing?

 

If your Note is E12, then it probably doesn't need a code, at least I and some other members didn't need that when changing the battery.

 

My model E12 is the same model as the op, and i can assure you that the radio code is lost as soon as you disconnect the battery.
Also please refer to the various members who have posted requests for radio code information here on this forum after they've changed their battery. However if you have managed to keep the code I'd be interested to know how, after all the whole reason for having a code is for the security of the radio not working if stolen 😉

 

I changed my battery and my sat nav radio kept working after. It was unconnected for over half an hour as I was chatting with a mate. Note the manual states clearly if you intend not to use the car for a long time (4wks) disconnect the battery.

 

Agreed, the connect 3 (and I think the connect 2) are coded to the ECU and don’t need any code input, the only time you might need a main dealer involved is if you are swapping units between cars, you can disconnect the battery with these for as long as you like.
