Hello, I have an airbag warning light on my 2012 1.6 petrol note, and a code B1049 DRIVER AIRBAG MODULE[OPEN]. local garage have suggested it’s the clock spring. £212 plus fitting. But they can’t guarantee it is that part. They have also said getting an eBay spare (£20-40) is not recommended due to importance of the part in the cars safety. Can anyone please comment on the error code and if there really is reliable non Nissan suppliers of these parts. A breaker will sell me a part that may be older than my car.

do I just suck up the £300 and hope it fixes the light/error. :geek:

thanks

thanks, ive already had the recall, 3 months ago. I tried a cheeky phone call to try and 'blame' them and get them to come back out to replace, but they directed me back to Nissan who said the error code is the clock spring, and wasn't touched by the recall guys....

Thanks, so the question is where is a reputable place to get one from? eBay £20 seems too cheap. Nissan parts line said they’re programmed to the car, but that sounds like nonsense.

can you advise on the part if I give you my reg etc?

Thanks and are parts from there new? Reputable? Thanks for ur help BTW!
Go to www.partsouq.com
You need your cars VIN number.
Put it in the box and click the button. Then search through the sections to find the area you want to look at. All parts for that section will be listed with numbers. You can order from the site or use the part number to do a search in the UK for the part. The company on the above link are based in Dubai, i have used them and they are pretty fast with delivery but due to covid it may be faster to search the uk for parts.
The clock spring is not programmed to the car as far as i'm aware.
Thanks, last q! I’ve searched for words - clock, spiral, squib, but no results, is it called something else?
sorry
