Probably a faulty wiper stalk / switch ?
Especially if the wipers work on the other settings ( slow / fast wipe ).

Mine do not do intermittent wiping! have a 2014 Tekna Note. .Any ideas?
The 2014 Tekna doesn’t have an intermittent setting. It has off, Auto, continuous slow, continuous fast. The part of the stalk that rotates controls the sensitive of the Auto Wipers.

The wipers should move once when you move the stalk from Off to Auto, to confirm auto wipers are active.

Try turning the sensitivity up to maximum so that the wipers come on without much water. Then cover the sensor with a wet finger. It is located on the windscreen, just below the rear view mirror. This should trigger the wipers.

If not then the sensor could be faulty. I’m assuming the car has the correct windscreen fitted for auto wipers. The windscreen for the Tekna is different.
