Spare key not working

Hi I have just purchased a 2013 nissan note. Got given 2 keys one works fine. The other spare key does not unlock doors using buttons or start the engine. I thought perhaps the key needed programming, I googled for a programming sequence.... (putting the key into ignition 5 times etc) ...but still not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you replaced the battery in the key fob ?

Hi yes, I replaced the battery. And checked it was a good battery by putting it in the working fob aswell. Still no luck

Possibly the non functioning fob has a bad circuit board or a bad connection somewhere.
May be worth stripping it down to check.

Thanks Sineu... you might be right.
I spoke to an AA chap out n about and he said that I should at least be able to open the doors with the buttons. So yes it could be perhaps a dodgy chip or capacitor on the board. Will have a look
