Hello, I recently brought a Nissan note 2014 plate from a local dealership. A few weeks past and a notification popped up saying maps needed updating. I cancelled it and it's popped up a few more times. It's been working fine up until today it's now saying drive on to a digitised road. I am on a main road and it's not recognising it. Nissan have quoted me ÂŁ98 for a new up to date sd card! Is there anywhere else I can buy one that's not going to cost a fortune! Many thanks

A couple of points.

First, yes, the Nissan SD card map updates are a rip off, unfortunately. However they are not alone, many manufacturers charge huge amounts for updates. You may see cheap ones online, but there is a high chance they will not work as the sat nav system has some sort of process for checking the cards are genuine.

Many people decide to go for a separate sat nav such as a Tom Tom with free life time updates, which will probably cost less than one update.

However, the message you mention about a digitised road may not be as worrying as you imagine.

If you were slightly off the road, such as in a garage forecourt, a car park etc you get this sort of message, which essentially means get to a proper road for the navigation to start.
