Hi Guys, <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
Took off all my alloy wheels today (one at a time!) to give them ""a good seeing to"" i.e. deep clean and wax polish.
I noticed that on the recommended jacking point protrusions 3 out of the 4 had some sort of black plastic shield which covered the front edge of the jacking point , and then went all the way though the hollow middle of the jacking point.
Question-any idea what purpose or reason for this plastic cover, and will the missing one cause any ongoing problems?
I eagerly await any answers/theories
Regards Spartacus1961
NB I drive a 56 plate 1.6 manual version

I've only got 3 as well

Must be a cost cutting exercise, save 5p on every car they make, more bubbly at the shareholders party

Most likely they stop the jacking point filling up with mud and going rusty from the inside.
I'll add a new one to the list of "Things to replace that have fallen off if I ever go into a Nissan agent"

A bit like the £0.005p saved by not having a retainer loop on the washer bottle cap - Grrr!
