I bought my note from an ex-motability dealer. Got the handbook with the right numbers in, and the back half of the log book. (The seller has to post the front half to Swansea)

After an age, with no logbook arriving, I naturally assumed the dealer couldn't be bothered posting it off, so I applied for a logbook, using the "I'm the new owner" docket, and the big form from the DVLA.

Waited weeks, and I get a letter today thanking me for the application, which will be processed
on the 9th of July, and I will then get a V5.

What is going on? Surely a clerk types my name and address into the database and issues the V5, rather than types it into a letter that says someone else will type it in in 10 days time?
