Little story about my new tyres and replacement wheel...

Last month I took the Note into Nissan for them to look at my wheels as the lacquer has started to bubble around the NISSAN hub cap. ONLY ON ONE ALL OTHER LOOK FINE
. At first I was thinking that it may have been somecontaminationunder the paint / lacquer.

Nissan said they will replace it.

So, I thought that this would be a great time to get some new tyres.
Continental Premium Contact 2Size 185/55V16 £94eachfrom a company I have been using for the past 15 years. Asked Nissan could I pick up the new wheel so I could get a new tyre put on? NO, sorry but you can bring the tyre to us and we will fit it.Friday - Get one done and put the other in the boot. Asked can I order two more for next month. Sorry you had the last two. Continental have no stock and the other company we get them from have none.

Saturday - I go to Nissan for the new wheel. They take my old wheel off and remove the old tyre. Take the new wheel out of the box and
it's a 15". So I end up driving away with the old wheel and tyre.

They did however change the plastic trim around the Sat Nav, which had started to peel off. Looks like some solvent had been put on it at some time. Before I got the car.

So next week I should get a new wheel!!!

Now need to see who has got some tyres and book the car in for it's service £222

Yes, the 16" tyre is a problem as only Conti seem to make one the correct size. Luckily my local Quikfit had a couple in stock last year when I suffered a split sidewall. At least we get a spare (albeit a space saver) rather than a STUPID can of sealant gunk, which would have been of no use to me...the tyre opened up for a length of almost 3" halfway between the rim and the tread...I was astonished at how bad it was, especially as all I did was to run up a 4" high kerb at VERY slow speed. Quikfit were great, they had me sorted within 30 mins including a free inspection all round and all paperwork done. It was on New Year's Eve too, so hats off to the boys at the Hounslow branch! I stuck a nice big tip in their collection box for their prompt and efficient service.

A note for the Note...

Always have your best or new tyres on the back.
You can't feel how they grip on the back, comparedto the grip on the front. If thesteeringgoes light we slow down. With poor grip on the back, the car can step out on the bends.

Rich, Make sure you apply a goos coating of "RIM WAX" or other premuim wheel sealant like Poorboys wheel seal, very good stuff.

Glad my next 3 services, 3 MOT`s, 3 Years RAC platinum are not going to cost me!

Two year service now done for £222, which did not include the fuel filter. Also had Nissan put me two new tyres on the front at £100 each - price match.

Had a 61 plate Micra for the day, it had cruse and climate control. Did 60mpg!!! It had all the toys, but I like our 55 plate more as you can feel the road more when cornering etc.

I was happy to get back in the Note

Did some Christmas shopping, walked in and the phone was ringing. Nissan asking was I happy with the work that they had done today

Yep, Most forums will refer to Dealers as "Stealers" due to the prices they charge for almost everything parts, servicing etc!!

Our local Nissan main dealer (WLMG HANWELL) are a bunch of t**sers...when my Note came back from its 500 mile service, I was rather annoyed to find an EGG SANDWICH in the glovebox! Wouldn't mind, but it bloody STANK LIKE A RANCID FART, so god knows what state the bugger's guts were in. I have since found a local independent specialist who was more than happy to take over the warranty, and all has been well so far with no rogue foodstuffs lurking in the vehicle.

Yes in the K13 I went very slow around therounder-about, I could not get any feedback from the road.

The K12 is more like an old Mini. I love to drive a rally K12 car.
