Hello all,

New to this site so thought I would say hi and post a few quick pics of my car. I've had it for a year now, I changed to this from a fairly heavily modified Smart fortwo, so it's like driving a tank!

Quick list of what I've had done:

Cat back stainless steel exhaust from MIJ Performance
EBC Greenstuff brake pads
Dimpled and grooved discs
Custom made induction kit
Lowered 40mm on Spax coils
Rear parking sensors
Nissan satnav
Factory tinted rear windows, just had fronts done
Black alloy wheels
Footwell LEDs

I'm sure there's other stuff, can't think off the top of my head though. i'll post some more pics when I've given her a polish and wax! Pics are a bit poo, apologies. I'l use my actual camera for future ones. Not sure if I've posted links correctly either

Oh yeah, it's got those wind deflector thingies too, forgot about those! Painted my drums silver because they looked terribly rusty, gotta do my calipers still. Carbon fibre effect film on fuel cap, just messing about to see how it went on because I want to wrap my wing mirrors in it. Also fitted a beesting aerial, as I didn't like the long floppy one it had on it.

I only had it lowered today, it's fantastic. Feels brilliant around corners, a bit firm over speed bumps but it's worth it, highly recommended. Had to wait 3 weeks for delivery as they're made to order by Spax. Looking for a remap next, but current quotes of £500 seem a bit steep.Edited by: fazza85

Also forgot, replaced all speakers with Kenwood ones, not sure of exact model number but they sound fantastic.I'll upload a video of the exhaust later if anyone is interested in how it sounds.

Hey there it looks great!!!!Like the factory colour too, very posey!!!
Though for me i would have done the brakes in matt black to compliment the wheels, though thats your choice.Maybe a set of MK2 rear Clusters and reflectors would go down well.
Suprised you didnt paint the parking sensors.
Just one question where did you get the tow bar fitted?
Lastly have you any details on the sort/type/fittings of the air intake that youve done?

I went with silver because I wanted something behind the wheel to be visible. Black would be cool too though. I had the sensors fitted and wasn't too bothered about painting them, could do it at some point though. I made the induction kit myself, I used a universal air filter and some drain pipe, not sure off the top of my head what diameter. Had to mark and cut a slot for the air flow sensor to drop in then screwed it on. I also made a steel bracket to support the filter because you have to remove the airbox otherwise it would just fall down. My (crap) heat shield is a piece of aluminium we had knocking about in the workshop. I can post more in depth pictures if you like

The exhaust was made at MIJ Performance in Birmingham. Custom built for the car. I was going to get a dual exit but thought it wouldn't look right

the Last car that i had was a Nissan Primera Activ on a 51 plate, factory lowered, then i put a front strut brace on sorted the stereo system to 1300watts with 15" sub wooferI went to Stainless Steel Exhausts LTD at mansfield and got a full system bespoke made for my car, it got rid of the main cat and left the pre cat( OK with MOT), it also got rid of all the boxes except a special one at the rear plus it was made of 3" pipe then at the rear it ended with a 5" tail pipe, it made a great rumbling sound (almost V8) with a raspy throat on acceleration. then i also put in a K&N Filter charge kit too.All in all Perfomace was drastically improved 0-60 time went from 9+secs to down to around 7sec straight, you could do 60 in second just on the limit.

Impressive!!

I'm thinking about fitting a tow bar and parking sensors myself (no experience of this) when i get my note, hope it isn't too challanging.

Would love to hear more about thefoot-welllights. Was this a kit, or custom made? I'm planning to learn more about electronics after I finish my degree, so I thought, why not start with LEDs?!

The LEDs in the footwell are 2 12 inch strips I bought then had a cigarette plug fitted so I could turn them off if needed. Im going to get them wired in properly to a switch at some point. The tow bar was already on the car when I bought it. I doubt I will ever use it but always good to leave on just in case!

Hey having a towbar on the back of your car is the best thing you can do, one it stops tailgaters , and two its great for those people that are blind whilst driving and dont noticed you have stopped because when they hit you , theyll do far more damage to thier cars than yours, my father set off at a round about some years ago in his company escort, then the guy infront of him in a morris minor with towbar stopped, the total bill for my fathers company car was well over £2K that was in 1988.

Hey, sorry if this had been answered, but how much was the exhaust, and did you get all cat back, or just exhaust? plus, what engine do you have?

The exhaust was £295 and it's a full catback system. I've got a 1.6 Note.

I made and fitted a strut brace for the engine bay yesterday, the difference it makes to the handling is amazing. I used 25mm tubular steel for the bar and some thick steel plate welded to the ends. Car feels so much more responsive, doesn't roll anywhere near as much as it did in corners now. Very very worthwhile mod. I'm painting it today, it's not super pretty like a purchased one but does the job. I'll get some photos up soon, and also take some of my other mods for anyone interested.

I'm surprised at the amount of mods that are going on with this car, as most of the people i have seen driving it are much, much older than me (i'm 20), but just fitted proper Daytime running lights, LEds at the top of the car when the couresty lights turn on, along with footwell LEDs, and am planning to put lEDS behind the speedo + tacho so it glows blue instead of the horrible orange colour. can you post the pic of your mods up, woule be good to see
