Hello (and help)

I mistakenly sold my trusty Berlingo last year and ended up getting a 2013 ntec+ note 1.5dci (it's great but on finance).

The problem is difficult gear selection from standstill/neutral into first and then into second - it feels like the gear lever might break sometimes because its 'notchy'. I've searched on here but still unsure.

When the ignition is off the selector goes through the gears without issues.
It's an intermittent and unpredictable problem usually after the car is sat at lights or in traffic with the clutch held down.
No problems shifting through cruising gears at all.

Would adding Slick 50 to the gearbox make any difference?

Thanks an advance.

I used to own a 1.5 diesel Note ntec.
It had a very notchy gear change in every gear.
Apparently it was normal for the type of gearbox fitted to the car and i was told to not worry about it.

Matching engine speed to gearbox speed can help. Don't let the revs drop too low before changing gear. Doing that should make changing gear prety seamless. Plus the fact is increases the life of the clutch.
