Hello all I have a Nissan note Tekna auto, thehandbrakeneeds a adjusting, could any one tell me how to get to the adjusting nut, does the central housing have to come off there does seem to be a smallarea infront of thehandbrakethat might allow access but i am not sure and dont want to ruin the plastics.

its a long reach 10mm socket (not a sparkplug socket) if you look down at the handbrake theres a cover this just unclips, you need to do it on a level surface, back the nut of, pump the brake pedal 10-15 times so the self adjusters in the drums take up the slack,then nip the nut up till the hand brake is at the correct amount of clicks the manual states 8-9 clicks but i have mine at 5-6 clicks
in an ideal world you need the car off the ground and service therear brakesbeforehand

Thank you for your advice, I am changing the front discs and pads tomorrow and checking the rear brakes so will do it all then,
