Hi Everybody - just joined.
I have problem with front nearside creak. I'm told the Front Subframe Brace Nut needs rewelding. I'm a bit worried. Does anyone have any info on this please? I have an 08 Tekna Auto with about 30,000 on the clock. Thanks.
Many thanks for this - I've had a look and am learning about this problem very fast - it seems a lot of people have had the same trouble.
I've got the car booked into a different Nissan garage on Monday, they say they are familiar with the problem and can fix it without cutting or welding - I'll keep my fingers crossed!
i had this problem and eventually it was diagnosed that it was the
sleeve that runs through the inner wing where the top mount fastens had
become loose inside the inner wing,
"temporary" solution by the
garage was to splay the sleeve out so it doesnt move within the wing,
that was done last august and so far has not made a sound since,
fix includes body shop opening up the inner wing to reweld the sleeve
and then closing up the wing again, big bucks for that total fix so i
echo the others, if its under warranty get it back for them to
i also had a suspension part replaced which according
to Nissan is a "known fault" but as mine was out of the warranty period
it was up to me to pay for, including a new brake caliper and the
labour it was a total of £490 before i could drive the car without it
squeeking, car has since passed its MOT without any problems so im happy
that the problem is solved but if it does return im going to get rid of
the car, i dont fancy the bill for the proper repair...."
Just picked the car up from another Nissan dealer and with my fingers crossed and touching wood all appears to have been fixed and the noise has gone - the invoice (£95.94 incl VAT)says 'removed subframe support bar, pack out with washers and spacers, refit and carry out road test. Very happy at the moment - hope it lasts! No welding or cutting into the chassis needed. Thanks for all your input.
