Hi All,

I have an 11 plate nissan note diesel 1.4 which the blower motor fan has stopped working. Looking on the forum and online it seems to a bit of a nightmare job. I have done some mechanics in the past but never took a dash off so it looks a bit beyond me.

I took it to a garage who have diagnosed the blower as broken and quoted that it will be £350 to complete and replace the motor.

We can't afford this massively but they do have a 0% finance scheme. Before I go ahead with this is that a fair estimate. The garage have already said its not a fun job to do due to the wiring.

Failing that does anyone know a reasonable specialist near Preston, Lancashire?

well i think the motor is about £ 60 quid, there's a few on here that can point you in right direction , plus youtube, the garage would say that............ id allow a day but to dismantle mayb 5 parts in total basic tools, your call obviously, try using the search on this site you'll find posters that have done it good luck

Hi. Managed to fix it with a new heat resistor card and a guide online. £15 and 20 mins of my time versus £350 from a garage is a much better option!

Change the pollen filter, when the motor has to work a bit harder blowing through a dirty filter, the extra load burns out the controller card.

(Well it does the originals, the eBay specials generally let the wiring set on fire first like a vauxhall )
