Thanks to some
cyclist overtaking on the wrong side against the flow of traffic I have kerbed and 'bruised my nearside front alloy.

Nothing major and it was at low speed (I was tempted to simply maintain 'my' space and use him as a hood ornament
).

two light scratches and a 'bruise which looks as if it has gone through the lacquer.

Any recommendations for polishing these out and restoring the lacquer would be very much appreciated.

I generally just daub some clear varnish over little scratches to weather proof them. If it is really noticeable, you can get the wheel stripped, gouges polished out and repainted for about £40.

Cheers, I might nick some of the wife's clear nail varnish. There are no gouges, it's more like someone has taken a 'Brillo' pad to it.
